PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent leakage of excretory substance such as urine by eliminating impairment of gas permeability and plasticity near edges (a waistline) of an absorbent body.SOLUTION: A disposable diaper includes an absorbent body 10, and a waist-forming sheet 20. The waist-forming sheet 20 is superposed on an outer face side of the absorbent body 10, where one edge thereof close to a longitudinal edge of the absorbent body is defined as a stationary edge 21 and the other edge is defined as a free edge 22. Further, a part of the stationary edge 21 side of the waist-forming sheet 20 is fixed to the outer face of the absorbent body 10 at a stationary part 23. Thereby, the waist-forming sheet 20 is folded back using the stationary part 23 as a folding line, so that the part of the free edge 22 side extends from the longitudinal edge of the absorbent body 10.
