PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard material having a composite weight having a large weight of copper oxide and having biocidal properties. SOLUTION: In order to produce a product that benefits from biocidal properties, it maintains the aesthetic appearance of the product and maintains the product strength along with processability, and is very effective on synthetically manufactured hard surfaces. Provided are large copper compound weights and systems for their inclusion to provide effective antimicrobial performance. Although there is a direct relationship between microbicidal efficacy and weight levels, high weight levels can adversely affect product quality. Surprisingly, these conflicting discoveries have been overcome and products and treatments are presented that include high weight levels of copper particles in products that retain structural integrity and a reasonably pleasing appearance.
