PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MRI apparatus which certainly describes a flow at a low flow rate such as the blood flow of the lower limbs without prescribing a contrast medium.
SOLUTION: The MRI apparatus of one preferred embodiment performs scanning, which depends on pulse sequence including a read gradient magnetic field pulse, on a subject placed in a static magnetic field, and includes a signal collection means and an image generation means. The signal collection means composes the read gradient magnetic field pulse so as to include a pulse body for reading an echo signal from the subject and a control pulse, which is added to the pulse body and makes the magnetization spin of a fluid with a movement within the subject dephased, and collects the echo signals by performing the scanning. The image generation means forms the image of the fluid or an image influenced by the fluid based on the echo signal.
