PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MRI apparatus which surely visualizes a low-flow-rate stream such as a blood stream of the lower limbs without administering a contrast medium to a subject.SOLUTION: The MRI apparatus performs scanning, which depends on pulse sequence including a read gradient magnetic field pulse, on a subject placed in a static magnetic field. The apparatus includes a signal collection means and an image generating means. The signal collection means constitutes the read gradient magnetic field pulse such that it includes a pulse body to read echo signals reflected from the subject, and a control pulse which is added to the pulse body and dephases magnetization spins of a fluid moving inside the subject. The signal collection means performs the scanning to collect the echo signals.
