The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for abnormal breath diagnosis of an inspection target. The apparatus for abnormal breath diagnosis according to the present invention comprises: a diagnosis apparatus for covering the face of the inspection target a power supply unit for supplying power needed for operations a carbon dioxide sensor, arranged on a main body of the diagnosis apparatus, for measuring the concentration of carbon dioxide included in exhalation of the inspection target and for outputting a corresponding signal a determination unit for determining abnormal breath of the inspection target by analyzing the output signal of the carbon dioxide sensor and a display unit for displaying a determination result of the determination unit.
