PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely remove silver skin by Coulomb force without oxidizing coffee beans.SOLUTION: A silver skin removal device for coffee beans is provided that includes: electrode plates 17, 18 which locate above a transportation path for coffee beans containing silver skin a ground electrode plate 11 which contacts with the transportation path below the transportation path and is disposed opposite the electrode plates 17, 18 and an endless insulation band 14 which moves crossing a direction of transportation of coffee beans and is provided between one of the electrode plates 17, 18 and the transportation path. Silver skin is adhered to the insulation band 14 by Coulomb force generated between an electric field formed between one of the electrode plates 17, 18 and the ground electrode plate 11.
