The present invention relates to dorsa lure-plant volatile attractant composition for mango fruit flies particularly to Bactrocera dorsalis and other species such as Bactrocera zonata and Bactrocera correcta. The dorsa lure-plant volatile composition for attraction of fruit flies consisting of 3-hexene-1-ol B- pinene Terpinene P-ocimene Methyl eugenol and Methanol in the range of 11.7 µl to 588.0 µl per 1 ml of the dorsa lure-plant volatile composition, said composition attracts and increases the trap efficiency of Bactrocera dorsalis fruit flies.
