A ball throwing apparatus, comprising: an elongated body having a longitudinal axis spanning between first and second ends. A part-spherical structure is integrally formed on one said ends of the elongated body, with the part spherical structure having an opening capable of receiving and releaseably engaging a ball. The part-spherical structure is capable of releasing the ball when the elongated body is held near one said ends and swung in a, circular path. The part spherical structure includes a closure mechanism which is capable of movement between a first orientation in which the closure at least partly covers the ball when retained in the ball thrower and a second orientation in which the ball in the part spherical structure is at least partially uncovered.L'invention concerne un appareil de lancer de balle comprenant : un corps allongé ayant un axe longitudinal s'étendant entre une première extrémité et une deuxième extrémité.
