The objective measurement optical system irradiates light onto a subject's eye via the objective lens and detects returning light from the subject's eye. The interference optical system splits light from a light source into reference light and measurement light, projects the measurement light onto the subject's eye via the objective lens so as to overlap at least part of an area of the irradiated light at the subject's eye by the objective measurement optical system, generates interference light between returning light of the measurement light and the reference light, and detects the generated interference light. The image forming unit forms a tomographic image of the subject's eye based on a detection result of the interference light by the interference optical system.
