PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of evaluating intensity of pain on movement associated with bipedal walking of non-human primates, and a method of evaluating a substance under test on whether the substance under test is effective in relieving pain on movement and on a level of effectiveness using such a method.SOLUTION: A method of evaluating pain on movement associated with bipedal walking of non-human primates is for evaluating pain on movement experienced by a subject animal, which is a non-human primate, and involves steps of; letting the subject animal walk freely on hind limbs only with a walking aid attached thereto to maintain posture while walking on two hind limbs, and evaluating walking motion; and evaluating intensity of pain on movement experienced by the subject animal, based on an evaluation result the walking motion.SELECTED DRAWING: None
