PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a technology for producing a sterol ester as a highly water-holding/highly moisturizing paste component having lanolin-like functions from a free fatty acid, phytosterol and triterpene alcohol as only rice-derived materials, and to provide a technology, using the above technology, for ameliorating skin conditions(e.g. preventing/ameliorating rough skin, preventing spots/wrinkles), widely applicable to improving oily phase touch feeling owing to good touch feeling with high spreadability on the skin because of having a melting point near body temperature and because of high water-holding ability and stabilizing emulsification, based on the properties of reducing surfactant and improving product safety and the like, and also hopeful of the effect of foundation crack proofness, and applicable to makeup or care products based on being hopeful of the effects of improving skin gloss and preventing recrystallization of crystalline components in cream or the like.

SOLUTION: The cosmetological care or makeup component contains a phytosterol and/or triterpene alcohol ester.
