PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article in which a wearer hardly feels a touch of a side sheet and discomfort, and which is also excellent in a lateral leakage prevention effect.SOLUTION: An absorbent article of the invention comprises: a liquid permeable front surface sheet 2 which forms a skin contact surface a rear surface sheet 3 which forms a non-skin contact surface and an absorber 4 interposed between both sheets. The front surface sheet 2 comprises in at least an article width direction center region, an irregular region 2M comprising plural salient parts 13 projecting to the skin side and recess parts 14 disposed between the plural salient parts. The absorbent article 1 has side part regions S in which the skin contact surface side of the front surface sheet 2 is covered with a liquid impermeability side sheet 8, on both sides of the center region, and each side sheet 8 is jointed to the front surface sheet 2 on a partial or whole region of the side part region S.
