The present invention provides an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer which can be melt-molded at temperatures lower than conventional ones and which hence can give molded objects that are inhibited from having undergone undesirable coloring and having fish-eyes and that have excellent gas-barrier properties. The ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer of the present invention has carboxylic ester groups at polymer terminals.
