PURPOSE: A method for reducing the toxicity of plant extract is provided to ensure anti-inflammation and to prevent or treat inflammatory diseases. CONSTITUTION: An Artemisia capillaries extract reduces toxicity by being fermented with Lactobacillus paracasei LS-2(deposit number KFCC11490P). The extract improves anti-inflammation. A composition for preventing or treating inflammatory disease contains the extract as an active ingredient. A method for reducing the toxicity of the extract comprises: a step of preparing the extract； and a step of fermenting the extract with Lactobacillus paracasei.본 발명은 락토바실러스 파라카제이로 발효되어 독성이 줄어든 것을 특징으로 하는 인진쑥 추출물 및 인진쑥 추출물의 독성을 줄이는 방법을 제공한다. 본 발명은 인진쑥 뿐만 아니라, 어성초, 구절초 또는 신이화 등의 식물에 대해서도, 락토바실러스 파라카제이로 발효되어 독성이 줄어든 것을 특징으로 하는 추출물 및 이러한 식물 추출물의 독성을 줄이는 방법을 제공한다. 본 발명의 인진쑥 추출물 등의 식물 추출물은 식물의 원래의 유용한 특성을 그대로 유지하면서 개선된 항염증성을 갖기 때문에, 염증 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 조성물, 발효 제품, 사료첨가용 조성물 등에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
