The present invention relates to the cosmetic use of at least one short chain fatty acid (SCFA) comprising from 3 to 8 carbon atoms, salts thereof, esters thereof and mixtures thereof, for preventing and/or treating dry skin and/or aged skin, in particular hyposeborrheic dry skin and/or aged skin. The present invention also relates to the cosmetic use of a conditioned culture medium obtained from at least one microorganism of the species Propionibacterium acnes, the said medium comprising at least one short chain fatty acid comprising from 3 to 8 carbon atoms, salts thereof, esters thereof and mixtures thereof, for preventing and/or treating dry skin and/or aged skin, in particular hyposeborrheic dry skin and/or aged skin.La présente invention concerne l'utilisation cosmétique d'au moins un acide gras à courte chaîne (SCFA) comprenant de 3 à 8 atomes de carbone, leurs sels, leurs esters et leurs mélanges, pour la prévention et/ou le traitement de la peau sèche et/ou de la peau âgée, en particulier de la peau sèche et/ou de la peau âgée hyposéborrhéiques. La présente invention concerne également l'utilisation cosmétique d'un milieu de culture conditionné obtenu à partir d'au moins un micro-organisme de l'espèce Propionibacterium acnes, ledit milieu comprenant au moins un acide gras à courte chaîne comprenant de 3 à 8 atomes de carbone, ses sels, ses esters et ses mélanges, pour prévenir et/ou traiter la peau sèche et/ou la peau âgée, en particulier la peau sèche et/ou la peau âgée hyposéborrhéiques.
