PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost illuminating optical system, which can ensure main requirements for illuminating optics wherein (1) total amount of outgoing light can be sufficiently preserved, (2) light distribution is even, (3) light distribution can be widely kept, and which has a small diameter and a short length, can be downsized and homogeneously manufactured.
SOLUTION: This illuminating optical system emits light from a light source device to an object. Of optical components constituting the illuminating optical system, an illuminating optical system 2 in which one or more surfaces other than the closest surface r1 to the object are composed by ground surfaces r2, meets the following conditional equation, when the total amount of light outgoing to the object by the illuminating optical system 2 is L, and the total amount of light outgoing by a reference optical system in which all ground surfaces in the illuminating optical system 2 are replaced with mirror surfaces, is L
