PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for targeted cleavage of cellular chromatin in a region of interest and/or homologous recombination at a predetermined region of interest in plant cells.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there is provided a method for intramolecular homologous recombination in the genome of a plant cell, the method comprising the steps of: (a) integrating a foreign DNA segment into the genome of the plant cell, the foreign DNA sequence comprising a target site of a zinc finger nuclease, and the target site being not present in the endogenous genome of the plant cell； and (b) contacting a foreign DNA segment in the genome of the plant cell with a zinc finger nuclease that binds to the target site.
