PURPOSE: A device and a method for sterilizing old books are provided to effectively sterilizing bacteria and mold in old books by using plasma jet. CONSTITUTION: A device and sterilizing old books comprises a process chamber(100), and a plasma supply part(300). The process chamber has a sealed treating space for accepting old books(10). The shape and the structure of the process chamber can be varied according to required conditions and designs. In the process chamber an opening for old books moving in and out. The opening can be selectively opened and closed by a door. The plasma supply part supply plasma jet into the space of the process chamber.플라즈마 제트(plasma jet)를 이용하여 고서(古書)를 살균할 수 있는 고서 살균 장치 및 방법가 개시된다. 고서 살균 장치 및 방법는 고서(古書)가 배치되기 위한 밀폐된 처리 공간을 갖는 처리실, 및 처리 공간 내부에 플라즈마 제트(plasma jet)를 공급하는 플라즈마 공급부를 포함하고, 고서는 플라즈마 제트에 의해 살균 처리된다.
