The present invention relates to a composition for effectively preventing and treating non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, which is caused by the accumulation of fatty acid in the liver due to excessive intake of nutrients or metabolic syndrome regardless of alcohol intake. The composition contains an Aronia melanocarpa extract and a Silybum marianum extract. The composition of the present invention can greatly improve an increase in the weight of the liver, the accumulation of liver neutral fat, an increase in a serum ALT concentration, a reduction in liver SOD activity, a reduction in total antioxidative activity of the liver, and the like, in experimental animals which are grown with a high fat diet for a long period of time. The fatty liver disease caused by a high fat diet in the experimental animals shows similar pathological and immunological findings to human non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and thus the composition of the present invention can be provided as a great pharmaceutical agent or health supplement foods used to prevent and treat non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.본 발명은 알코올 섭취와 무관하게 과도한 영양분 섭취 또는 대상성 증후군에 의해 간에 지방이 축적하여 발생하는 비 알코올성 지방간 질환의 예방 및 치료에 유효한 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 조성물은 고지방식이로 장기간 사육한 실험동물에서 간 무게 증가, 간 중성지방 축적, 혈청 ALT 농도 상승, 간 SOD 활성도 감소 및 간 총 항산화능 감소 등을 크게 개선할 수 있다. 실험동물에서 고지방식이로 유발된 지방간 질환이 인간의 비 알코올성 지방간 질환과 유사한 병리학적 및 면역학적 소견을 나타내므로, 본 발명의 조성물은 비 알코올성 지방간 질환의 예방 및 치료에 사용되는 우수한 약학제제 또는 건강보조식품으로 제공될 수 있다.
