PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and durable calibrator having a simple configuration for calibrating a fracture strength measuring device for articles such as eggs. SOLUTION: The calibrator 1 for the fracture strength measuring device includes: inside of a cylinder shaped case 10, a counter-pressure unit 13 for applying a counter-pressure force against a pressure from outside by attracting forces of a magnetic body 7 and a permanent magnet 5; and a pressure transmission unit 12 for transmitting the pressure to the counter-pressure unit, and for drastically reducing the counter-pressure by separating the magnetic body 7 and the permanent magnet 5 almost instantaneously by the repelling force accumulated by the pressure when the pressure is over the attracting forces of the magnetic body 7 and the permanent magnet 5. After calibrating the fracture strength measuring device, the calibrator 1 automatically returns to the initial state before the calibration by the attracting forces of the magnetic body 7 and the permanent magnet 5.
