The present utility model relates to a method of tissue culture propagation of banana, the propagation protocol comprising: a) obtaining initial explants from the banana plant b) inoculating the explants onto 20 ml of culture media c) carrying out routine subculture using the same culture media every 18 to 21 days d) stimulating shoot multiplication by transferring explants pieces alternately between liquid and solid media of the same composition at the given intervals and e) maintaining shoot cultures by subdividing multiplying shoot clusters with a sterile scalpel and transferring to fresh solid media of the same composition at 3 to 4 week intervals, with rooting being done using MS media.
