A method for producing a disposable wearing article provided with one or a plurality of fingerhold pockets opening downward at non-skin sides of torso sections at an upper end of a rear torso section and a front torso section, the method comprising: a step for conveying one or two continuous webs continuous in a conveyance direction and serving as the front torso section and the rear torso section a folding step for folding a side edge corresponding to a longitudinal end of a wearing article in the continuous web(s) and causing a folded first section and an unfolded second section to face each other a step for intermittently bonding the first section and the second section together in the conveyance direction to form pockets and a step for cutting the continuous web(s) along imaginary lines extending in orthogonal directions.
