An aeration system for aerating particulate materials disposed in astorage bin is provided. The aeration system comprises a plurality ofelongatedhollow aerators and a supply conduit connected to each of the plurality ofaerators.The supply conduit is connected to a blowing mechanism for receiving air therefromand for providing the air to the aerators. Each aerator is disposed inside thestoragebin having a substantially vertical orientation with a perforated front wallandmounted by a rear wall to an inside surface of a wall of the storage bin. Anelongateperforated venting tube is disposed approximately centrally within the storagebin,the venting tube extending generally through the particulate material upwardlytoward the bin roof for collecting and transmitting the air from theparticulatematerials and venting the same to a location external to the storage bin.
