The present invention relates to an image processing device for generating a design image based on a reference marker and a method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the image processing method generating a design image based on a reference marker comprises the steps of: receiving a tomographic image and an oral scan image for a person to be treated to which a plurality of reference markers are attached to the inside of a mouth from at least one external device； matching the images based on a position of the reference marker detected from the tomographic image and the oral scan image to generate a matching image； determining a teeth arrangement profile for the inside of a mouth of the person to be treated based on the matching image； and generating a design image of a structure linked to the inside of the mouth based on the teeth arrangement profile.본 발명은, 레퍼런스 마커에 기반하여 설계 이미지를 생성하는 이미지 처리장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따르면, 레퍼런스 마커에 기반하여 설계 이미지를 생성하는 이미지 처리방법은, 적어도 하나의 외부장치로부터 구강 내부에 복수의 레퍼런스 마커가 부착된 피시술자에 대한 단층촬영 이미지 및 오랄스캔 이미지를 수신하는 단계； 상기 단층촬영 이미지 및 오랄스캔 이미지로부터 검출된 레퍼런스 마커의 위치를 기반으로 상기 이미지들을 정합하여 정합 이미지를 생성하는 단계； 상기 정합 이미지에 기반하여 상기 피시술자의 구강 내부에 대한 치열 프로파일을 결정하는 단계； 및 상기 치열 프로파일에 기반하여 상기 구강 내부에 형합되는 구조물의 설계 이미지를 생성하는 단계；를 포함한다.
