In a removable oil filter or fuel filter housing which is screwed into place by means of matching threads, the novelty is that one of the two matching threads has a packing projection which stands proud in the axial direction of the thread. The diagrams show a suitable filter assembly mounted on a supporting structure and secured by interlocking threads (1,2). In at least one section of the thread (1') a packing projection (14) stands proud against the opposite thread face (1) in the direction of the screw axial direction (3). USE/ADVANTAGE - The arrangement can be used on oil filters or fuel filter housing locating threads to lock it against accidental removal from the opposite thread face, or vice versa.
