Problem to be solved is to provide an effective method for raising the weight gain of poultry, such as chickens, a method of increasing the muscle mass of poultry, and a method of reducing the amount of myostatin or \/ or myogenin in the first generation chicks.In the present invention, the feed containing oxidized glutathione is ingested into poultry during incubation from hatching to hatching after 24 to 168 hours to increase the muscle mass in the growing chickens and enable efficient poultry production . The present invention also provides an initial feed composition for poultry containing oxidized glutathione.ニワトリ等の家禽の増体重を向上させるために有効な飼育方法、家禽の筋肉量を増大させる方法、及び、初生ヒナにおけるミオスタチン又は/及びミオゲニンの発現量を低減させる方法を提供することを解決課題とする。 本発明では、酸化型グルタチオンを含有する飼料を、孵化から孵化後24~168時間までの期間に、家禽に摂取させることにより、成長後のニワトリにおける筋肉量を効率的に増大させ、効率的な家禽の生産を可能にする。本発明ではまた、酸化型グルタチオンを含有する家禽用の初期飼料組成物を提供する。
