Protection mask of the eye (1) for the practice of sports in the open air, comprising: - a screen which is deformable (3), - a frame (2) comprising at least one housing to grip (27a, 27b) intended to cooperate with the screen in order to maintain fixed to the screen with the frame, according to at least one assembly direction (x), characterized in that the housing of the fastening is adapted to cooperate with the screen only when the screen is deformed, and in that the mask comprises at least one retention means (4, 5) making it possible to maintain the deformation of the screen when - latter is assembled on the frame.
