The invention relates to a laparoscopic surgical instrument comprising a base body (1) lengthened in a longitudinal direction, a handle (2) fixed to the proximal end of the base body (1), and a gripping surgical tool (3) fixed to the distal end of the base body (1). A protecting tip (4) is mounted in such a way that it can slide along an outer surface of the base body (1), between a distal protection position wherein said protecting tip (4) covers the gripping tool (3), and a proximal working position wherein the protecting tip (4) leaves the gripping tool (3) exposed.
