PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin external composition that is highly safe and has high antiinflammatory and antiallergic actions.SOLUTION: A skin external composition for inflammatory disease contains dihomo-γ-linolenic acid (DGLA) as an active ingredient and inhibits itching of inflammatory disease. Preferably, the skin external composition contains DGLA in the form of glyceride, phospholipid, glycolipid, alkyl ester, salt, or free fatty acid, and the content of DGLA in the external composition is 0.01-50 wt.%.
