Disclosed herein are compounds having activity as cell membrane permeable peptides. In some examples, the compound can include a cell membrane permeable peptide moiety and a cargo moiety. The cargo site can include one or more detectable sites, one or more therapeutic sites, one or more target sites, or any combination thereof. In some embodiments, the cell membrane permeable peptide site is cyclic. In some embodiments, both the cell membrane permeable peptide site and the cargo site are cyclic. In some embodiments, the cell membrane permeable peptide site is cyclic and the cargo site is attached to the cyclic cell membrane permeable peptide site structure.
