Disclosed herein is a foaming composition which comprises a liquid including a plurality of particles with a mean particle size between 90 and 700 microns suspended therein, water, at least one surfactant, and at least one non-Newtonian thickener, wherein the non-Newtonian thickener exhibits viscosity at low shear rates that is sufficient to maintain particles suspended in the liquid and has low viscosity when exposed to high shear rates, the liquid being foamable when mixed and dispensed with air from a non-aerosol dispenser, the dispensed foam having the plurality of particles suspended therein when mixed with air, wherein said particles may be chosen from the group consisting of pumice, cornmeal, ground walnut shells, ground fruit stones, wood flour, microbeads, microcapsules, dried pulses and any combination thereof, wherein said composition is adapted for use in a non-aerosol dispenser comprising a foaming component including:(a) an air sparging element chosen from a group consisting of sintered polyethylene, sintered bronze, sintered stainless steel, micro porous materials, and multi-layer stainless steel gauze;(b) a mixing chamber on one side of the air sparging element and the air sparging element defining a portion of the mixing chamber and the mixing chamber having a liquid inlet in flow communication with the liquid container;(c) a foaming component air chamber on the other side of the air sparging element and the air sparging element defining a portion of the air chamber and the air chamber having an air inlet; and (d) a mixing chamber outlet downstream of the liquid inlet in the mixing chamber. The disclosure also provides that the foaming composition is adapted for use in a method of making foam including the steps of: (a) providing air under pressure to one side of an air sparging element chosen from a group consisting of sintered polyethylene, sintered bronze, sintered stainless steel, micro porous materials, and multi-layer stainless steel gauze; (b
