The present invention provides a method of preparing a calcium phosphate-based material with excellent biocompatibility such as hydroxyapatite (HA) or tri-calcium phosphate (β-TCP) by making an eggshell powder react with a phosphate-ammonia solution. A method of synthesizing HA using an eggshell of the present invention comprises the steps of: obtaining the eggshell powder; preparing the phosphate-ammonia solution; mixing the eggshell powder with the phosphate-ammonia solution to prepare an eggshell reaction solution, and reacting the eggshell reaction solution at room temperature; and drying the eggshell reaction solution to prepare a calcium phosphate (CaHPO_4) powder and performing a process of heat-treating the calcium phosphate powder. The method according to the present invention has an effect that HA or β-TCP can be separately synthesized although the same reaction conditions are used by adjusting an amount of phosphoric acid ions included in the phosphate-ammonia solution. The method according to the present invention has an effect of enabling a concentration of the phosphoric acid ions included in the phosphate-ammonia solution to determine shape of HA or β-TCP particles after heat-treatment process, and has an effect of improving specific surface area by accelerating the formation of whisker-shaped particles as the concentration of the phosphoric acid ions is increased. The method according to the present invention has an effect of promoting the synthesis of HA or β-TCP that is a final product by enabling ammonia ions included in the phosphate-ammonia solution to promote production of calcium hydroxide that is a raw material of a room temperature reaction, and has an effect of improving growth of the particles and an increase in the specific surface area by performing the heat-treatment process.
