PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydroponic apparatus, a container for hydroponics, and a method of hydroponics, in which overgrowth of edible parts such as underground stems and roots can be promoted in growing courses of root crops such as Japanese horseradish and Japanese radish.SOLUTION: A container body 11 comprises synthetic rubber or the like, and has a certain degree of elasticity. A number of through-holes 13 are formed on the container body 11. In the container body 11, granite porphyry 15 as granular matter is filled. An edible part S of a seedling of Japanese horseradish W is put into the granite porphyry 15. To the edible part S, pressure is uniformly applied by weight of the granite porphyry 15 or the like. Since the container body 11 has permeability, culture solution is continuously supplied to the Japanese horseradish W. As the edible part S becomes larger, the granite porphyry 15 around it is pressed, so that the container body 11 is elastically deformed and swollen outward. The elastic force is transmitted through the granite porphyry 15 to the edible part S of the Japanese horseradish W. Proper pressure is constantly added to the edible part S in accordance with the degree of its growth.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】ワサビやダイコン等の根菜類の成長過程において地下茎・根等の食用部の肥大を促進させることができる水耕栽培装置、水耕栽培用容器及び水耕栽培方法を提供する。【解決手段】容器本体11は合成ゴム等から成り、ある程度の弾性力を有している。容器本体11には貫通穴13が多数形成されている。容器本体11には粒状物としての麦飯石15が充填されている。ワサビWの苗の食用部Sを麦飯石15の中に入れる。食用部Sには麦飯石15の重み等によって圧力が均一に加えられる。容器本体11は通水性を有しているので、培養液がワサビWに連続的に供給される。食用部Sが肥大するにつれて周囲の麦飯石15が押されて、容器本体11が外側へ膨らむように弾性変形する。弾性力は麦飯石15を介してワサビWの食用部Sに伝わる。食用部Sには成長度合いに応じた適度な圧力が常に加えられる。【選択図】 図5
