PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily increase the internal space of the pocket of an absorbent article.SOLUTION: In the absorbent article 1, a front pocket 26 for housing excretion passed through an opening 25, a pair of side pockets 28 and a rear pocket 27 are formed between a front absorbing core 221, a pair of side absorbing cores 222, a rear absorbing core 223 and a back sheet member 23. The side absorbing cores 222 are joined to the inner surfaces of erected gathered parts 341, and the erected gathered parts 341 are pulled outwardly in left and right directions by the tensile members 5 joined to the erected gathered parts 341 on the left and right sides of the opening 25. By this constitution, the respective regions in the vicinity of the opening 25 of the side absorbing cores 222 and the front and rear absorbing cores 221 and 223 integrally formed to the side absorbing cores 222 are largely separated from the back sheet member 23. As a result, the internal spaces of the front pocket 26, the side pockets 28 and the rear pocket 27 can be easily increased.
