PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patch wherein it is difficult for an adhesive to protrude or flow out from an end part, and to provide a method for producing a patch preparation.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a method for producing the patch including a support body, an adhesive layer, and a release liner. In the cross sectional shape of the patch in a certain end part of the patch, at least one portion of an end part of the adhesive layer in the end part of the patch is positioned on a center part side of the patch rather than a line segment hanging down to the release liner from an end part of the support body in the end part of the patch, the end part of the adhesive layer is exposed, and the at least one portion of the end part of the adhesive layer is positioned on the center part side of the patch rather than the end part of the support body or an end part of the release liner.
