PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the commercial value of dried laver by suppressing unevenness in laver making, and deformation of laver dough.SOLUTION: A laver producing machine (1) is for transporting a laver reed screen (3) intermittently at a prescribed cycle time (T) using transportation devices (10 and 11), and making laver dough on the laver reed screen (3) using a laver making device (6). The laver making device (6) is configured to pinch the laver reed screen (3) by a laver making measure (19) and a water retaining bag (24) set on the upper and lower sides of the laver reed screen (3), supply water from the water retaining bag (24) to the laver making measure (19) by compressing the water retaining bag (24) and then supply laver dough to the laver making measure (19), and expand the water retaining bag (24) so as to absorb the laver dough and water from the laver making measure (19) and make laver from the laver dough by the laver reed screen (3).
