The chew toy includes an elongate body formed as a capsule having opposed first and second ends； and a plurality of projections extending radially outward from and substantially perpendicular to an exterior surface of the body, at least one of the plurality of projections having a pointed tip at a distal end, wherein the plurality of projections are distributed on the exterior surface in spaced relation to each other.
