The present invention relates to an energy-saving cooling device for cooling a liquid, comprising:- a cooling circuit (1), comprising an evaporator (2), a compressor (3), a condenser (4), and an expansion valve (5)- a receptacle for the liquid, in which the evaporator (2) is accommodated- means (7) for measuring a first circuit parameter in the cooling circuit (1) between the condenser (4) and the expansion valve- means (6) for measuring a second circuit parameter in the cooling circuit (1) between the evaporator (2) and the compressor (3) and- actuating means (6, 7) for actuating the condenser (4) on the basis of the measured circuit parameters.
