PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking type mower capable of performing mowing work in a wide width in a flat land and performing mowing work easily and efficiently even on a levee, etc.SOLUTION: A walking type mower includes a mowing blade housing 3 including ground wheels 2, 2 at right/left both outer positions in a front part of a machine body 1, and a prime mover 4 and a right/left pair of travel wheels 5, 5 in a rear part. Mowing work may be performed while a handle 6 extending rearward and upward in the machine body 1 is gripped and operated by a worker walking rearward. A right/left distance W between the travel wheels 5, 5 is expandable/contractable.
