This invention relates to a series of compounds of formula (I) for use in treating infections caused by obligate anaerobic bacteria, including Clostridium difficile, and to methods of treating said infections by administering said compounds. The compounds can be used against strains of obligate anaerobic bacteria that have developed resistance to other antibiotics.
