The layered structure of absorbent sheets includes a central absorbent sheet (402) located in an excretion-section opposing region, and a base absorbent sheet (401) that is layered on the central absorbent sheet (402) so as to extend outward from at least a portion of the peripheral edge of the central absorbent sheet (402). A plurality of longitudinal slits (43) are formed in a dispersed state in the excretion-section opposing region of the absorbent member (4), each longitudinal slit (43) being cut toward the thickness direction of the absorbent member (4) and along the longitudinal direction. As for the layered structure, in the excretion-section opposing region, a portion of the plurality of layers of the absorbent sheets forming the layered structure is in a non-joined state in a section where each longitudinal slit (43) is formed.
