The biogas production container comprises stirring channel (5), which receives goods to be fermented and has a stirring equipment (7). The flow cross-section of the stirring channel is subdivided in the area of the stirring equipment by a separation wall (9) into part channels (10) that receive a stirring mechanism (8). The stirring mechanisms of the stirring equipment are controllable independent from one another. One of the stirring mechanisms is reversible in its rotational direction.
