An auxiliary hydraulic system for vehicles,in particular pick-up trucks, is configured to supplyhydraulic fluid under pressure to both on-boardand off-board auxiliary equipment such as snowplows, dump boxes and wood splitters. The auxiliaryhydraulic system includes a multi-piston fluid pumpwith electrically selectable poppet valves and an associatedmicroprocessor control that facilitates variableoutput so that a desired proportional flow can be suppliedto the auxiliary equipment. The system also providesa switchable valve arrangement for directionalcontrol and an arrangement of fluid distribution pipesand detachable couplings so that a range of differentauxiliary equipment can be quickly and simply connectedto the system. A simple user interface is also includedso that the operator can command the auxiliaryequipment from either within or in close proximity tothe vehicle.
