A method of blocking a fluid injection assembly of a fluid injection system, wherein the assembly includes a plunger rod, a syringe and a plunger, and the method includes the steps of: isolating the syringe from all the ducts of the injection assembly in a downward direction; the syringe to a second position in the syringe so that a vacuum is created in the syringe below the plunger; while the plunger is in working engagement with the plunger rod in the first position; the plunger is configured to disengage from the plunger rod in the second position and move back to the first position when disengaged from the plunger rod. 2.
