The method of forming an elastomeric layered material having elastic properties for use in personal care products, where the method is characterized by a machine direction and a transverse machine direction, the method comprising the following steps: - providing the first and second nonwoven webs, each of which is characterized by a width in the transverse machine direction； - providing a middle layer of stretched elastomeric material, the width in the transverse machine direction of this middle layer being at least 75% of the width of at least one of the first and second nonwoven webs； - placing the middle layer of elastomeric material between the first and second nonwoven webs； - joining the middle layer of elastic material with at least one of the first and second nonwoven webs； - providing a stretched elastomeric film tape； - placing an elastomeric film tape between the first and second nonwoven webs and - joining the elastomeric films tape with the first and second nonwoven webs by fusing the elastomeric film tape with the first and second nonwoven webs. 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the elastomeric film tape is connected to the first and second nonwoven webs only by fusion, without the use of an adhesive. The method according to claim 1, wherein the width of the middle layer of elastomeric material is at least 90% of the width of at least one of the first and second nonwoven webs.
