A method for improving the barrier function of the vulva skin, comprising the step of contacting said vulva skin with an absorbent article containing a surface facing the body and a surface facing the clothes, and fatty acid is applied to said surface of the absorbent article facing the body omega 6.2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the lotion composition is additionally applied to said surface of said absorbent article facing the body, comprising (a) an oil material containing said omega-6 fatty acid, and (b) a carrier, lotion composition 3. The method according to claim 2, characterized in that the lotion composition contains from about 0.00015% to about 10%, by weight of the weight of said lotion composition, said omega-6 fatty acid, and from about 0.0005% to about 16% , by weight of the weight of said lotion composition, butyric acid. 4. The method of claim 2, wherein said oil material is selected from the group consisting of a mixture of Passiflora Incarnata seed oil and vegetable oil, a mixture of Camelina Sativa seed oil and vegetable oil, a mixture of evening primrose oil and vegetable oil, high oil content canola oil acids and mixtures thereof. 5. The method according to claim 2, characterized in that said oil material contains at least about 3%, by weight of the weight of said oil omega-6 fatty acid oil material, and wherein said oil material has an oil resistance index of at least 10 hours. 6. The method according to claim 2, characterized in that said lotion composition further comprises an antioxidant material selected from the group consisting of α-tocopherol, β-�1.
