PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic wave detection device, having high noise resistance with respect to unnecessary light. SOLUTION: This electromagnetic wave detection device for transmitting linearly polarized light through an electric field modulation element, modulated by a terahertz wave transmitted through a sample, and detecting a change of a polarization angle as light intensity is equipped with a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements 202, arrayed two-dimensionally, for detecting the light intensity; and an optical filter 205 for performing wavelength separation of light, entering the photoelectric conversion elements 202.
