PURPOSE: A livestock shed security device for detecting an abnormal situation in a livestock shed and a method thereof are provided to actively adapt to database change due to a new abnormal sound by confirming the abnormal sound based on the result of learning normal sounds. CONSTITUTION: A livestock shed security device comprises a comparison standard data generating unit, an audio data receiving unit, a feature vector extracting unit, an abnormal situation detecting unit, and a situation information providing unit. The feature vector extracting unit extracts feature vectors from sensed audio data. The abnormal situation detecting unit determines whether the sensed audio data corresponds to normal situation data based on the extracted feature vector. The abnormal situation detecting unit detects the sensed audio data as abnormal situation data when the sensed audio data is not corresponding to the normal situation data. The situation information providing unit provides abnormal situation notifying information based on the abnormal situation data.
