PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting cattle estrus using sound data are provided to rapidly detect the generation of cattle estrus based on a sound signal in real time.CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for detecting cattle estrus using sound data comprises: a signal receiving part which receives a sound signal obtained in real time a characteristic detecting part which extracts a feature vector from the sound signal an estrus generation detection part which determines whether the feature vector is sound generated from a cattle in heat through one among a support vector machine (SVM) and a single class SVM and an alarm part which outputs a warning signal informing estrus generation based on the result of the estrus generation detection part.
