The encoder and the encoder wheel (6) are arranged on a movable portion (14) of the suspension arrangement (8). The movable portion (14) is biased towards the rotary milking platform. The movable portion (14) is pivotable about a pivot axis (16), and the pivot axis (16) extends substantially perpendicularly to the encoder axis (12).
